Hadoop and Big Data are revolutionizing data processing, and because of the increasing digitalization, the Internet, the rising importance of Social Media, and the presence of “Internet of Things”, the data diversity is growing in dimensions that did not exist before.

To process and maintain large and diverse data sets in a meaningful way, new technologies (such as Hadoop) have been developed. What is Hadoop? Hadoop is a free, Java-based programming framework that supports the processing of large data sets in a distributed computing environment.
