Treehouse Software is helping enterprise mainframe customers move their data to the top cloud service provider in the world — AWS

by Joseph Brady, Director of Business Development / AWS and Cloud Alliance Lead at Treehouse Software, Inc.

A few years ago, Treehouse Software was looking into partnering with a cloud services provider in order to more fully develop mainframe-to-cloud data replication within our tcVISION product. After researching the market, we discovered the company that was making the boldest strides in the cloud services space and has the largest data center presence in the world is Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is known as a public cloud solution that offers numerous services to customers who want to connect on-premises installations to the cloud. Additionally, we quickly learned that no other company comes close to AWS in quantity of adoptions by customers across the spectrum of market verticals, as well as being the leader with the ability to execute its solutions. The latest Gartner Cloud Magic Quadrant proves this out…

For the ninth consecutive year, AWS has secured the top-right corner of the Leader’s Quadrant in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), earning highest placement for Ability to Execute and furthest for Completeness of Vision. Read more here:

The Treehouse Software / AWS Relationship

Since Treehouse Software signed an agreement with AWS, we have been able to accelerate enhancing our tcVISION product to offer enterprise customers a complete data replication solution that provides them with fast and easy access to the AWS cloud.

Through this collaboration, Treehouse Software and AWS are working together to offer customers with mainframe systems a straightforward solution for enhancing their business agility.  Treehouse Software provides proven and mature mainframe data delivery capabilities, and the customer benefits from modernization of their data within the flexible, scalable, pay-as-you-go offerings on AWS.

tcVISION on the AWS Marketplace…

Treehouse has been working with some of AWS’ top solutions architects to bring tcVISION to the AWS Marketplace as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI). A tcVISION AMI automatically sets up the product on the AWS Cloud and allows customers to use it with either backup/recovery mainframe files or Windows files, or to set up connectivity for real-time, on-premises mainframe data replication to AWS. An enterprise with mission critical data in a mainframe environment can rapidly deploy databases globally within minutes, and with minimal administration requirements.

tcVISION is featured on the AWS Partner Network Blog…

AWS recently published a blog about tcVISION’s Mainframe-to-AWS data replication capabilities, including a technical overview, security, high availability, scalability, and a step-by-step example of the creation of tcVISION metadata and scripts for replicating mainframe Db2 z/OS data to Amazon Aurora.
